Amrut, Bagheera
Gift Set with Two Amrut Glasses
46% 700ml
FROM THE LAND OF THE GREAT HIMALAYAS
Sherried Single Malt Indian Whisky
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Foundation of toasty, subtly smoky cereals. Initial berry notes transform to prune in time, then sweeter raisin, and eventually give way to brighter, overripe stone fruit
Taste: Citrus peel and sweet orchard fruit complemented by delicate baking spice and a gentle warmth. Darker raisin notes and berry compote arrive on the mid-palate along with a bit of pipe tobacco and old leather.
Finish: Warm, lingering notes of cola and ginger. There are glimmers of the outstanding Spectrum releases in this bottle, which is saying something.
About the Distillery
Amrut are the pioneers of Indian single malt whisky being the first to be made in India. Amrut or amrita is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as "nectar of the gods", "nectar of life", or "drink of the gods". The distillery sources its barley from the Himalayas and ages the whisky at an altitude of over 3,000 feet above sea level in Bangalore. In this climate, the angels take way more than their share as up to 15% ABV of the whisky is lost per year. The resulting spirit has netted Amrut with hundreds of awards around the globe.
"Great quality is not a choice,
It is the inevitable result of the environment we create."
