The Macallan have released this 18 year old single malt which now sits at the top of the new Triple Cask range which has replaced the Fine Oak range. Matured in a combination of European oak ex-Sherry casks, American oak ex-Sherry casks and American oak ex-Bourbon casks.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: This one reminds me of Scotland in the winter, toasted chestnuts on an open flame, notes of toffee and weeping orange skins.
Taste: Dark chocolate dominates and marries with vanilla pods and balanced oak. Again there's a toasted nature to this on the palate like coconut or toffee.
Finish: Freshly grated nutmeg and toasted almonds combine with toffee sweetness.
